WHAT DID THEY KNOW? WHEN DID THEY KNOW IT? The Incredible String Band - Maya

Don't even try to find a "Denomination" or "Category" to place them under. There ain't one.

The Incredible String Band -Maya- [lyrics]

The dust of the rivers does murmur and weep
Hard and sharp laughter that cuts to the bone
Ah, but ever face within your face does show
Going gladly now to give himself his own
And twelve yellow willows shall fellow the shallows
Small waves and thunder be my pillow
Upon the gleaming water two swans that swim
And every place shall be my native home
The east gate like a fortress dissolve it away
The west gate like a prison O come break it down
Island I remember living here
Wandering beneath the empty skies
In time her hair grew long and swept the ground
And seven blackbirds carried it out behind
It bore the holy imprint of her mind
As green-foot slow she moved among the seasons
The great man, the great man, historians his memory
Artists his senses, thinkers his brain
Labourers his growth
Explorers his limbs
And soldiers his death each second
And mystics his rebirth each second
Businessmen his nervous system
No-hustle men his stomach
Astrologers his balance
Lovers his loins
His skin it is all patchy
But soon will reach one glowing hue
God is his soul
Infinity his goal
The mystery his source
And civilisation he leaves behind
Opinions are his fingernails
Maya Maya
All this world is but a play
Be thou the joyful player
The wanderer no sense does make
His eyes being tied in the true love's knot
The trees perceive his soul
Do not detain him long
Dear little animal dark-eyed and small
Caring for your fur with pointed paws
This hawk of truth is swift and flies with a still cry
A small sweetmeat to the eyes of night
O dandelion be thou thine
Reflecting the sun in sexual glory
In every-changing tongues
The every-changing story
The book, man, bird, woman, serpent, sea, sun
Blessed O blessed are they of the air
Your eyes are the eyes
Of the glad land
Ye twelve that will enter the seasons
The great ship, the ship of the world
Long time sailing
Mariners, mariners, gather your skills
Jesus and Hitler and Richard the Lion Heart
Three kings and Moses and Queen Cleopatra
The Cobbler, the maiden
The mender and the maker
The sickener and the twitcher
And the glad undertaker
The shepherd of willows
The harper and the archer
All sat down in one boat together
Troubled voyage in calm weather.

Shine Our Light On Dwight

THE KARMA CONNECTION: Lets plaster Dwight's room with cards and letters! As of today his nurse said he is likely to be there for awhile yet. Cards and notes mean a lot...lets roll into action! Dwight's memory will be hazy on the calls, but he will see our messages every day!! Even if you don't know him personally, send him a card!

What he gave to us with Dwight Karma Broadcasting is something we can't thank him for enough. Dwight will get better with a little help from his friends and a lot of prayers. It will mean a lot to his family too. So lets let him know we are sending healing thoughts and prayers from all of us...

We're the GET WELL DWIGHT BRIGADE! Let's astonish him with our love...and our penmanship! Let him know he's got whole community rooting for him! And if you don't want to donate online, stick a a few bucks in the envelope!

Just Released:

Internationally traveling lecturer Dr Carl Hammerschlag, community healer and Patch Adams co-hart, has given permission to send this blog-link about last months Alwun House art fest... and encouragement to attend the friday's momentous, where he will be sharing a moment on stage.

or
Just click the headline above.

Kimber Lanning was impressed and acknowledged the depth of artistic representation at Alwun House through First Friday, Dec 1; Viewing Tue - Fri, 12 -6pm. free

35 YEARS / 35 ARTISTS
A retrospective of artists supporting non-profit Alwun House; Downtown's first art gallery and contemporary artspace. As Mayor Phil Gordon proclaimed Friday, Nov 10, Alwun House Day, you're invited to Downtown's longest sustained art community incubator's 35th year celebration: There'll be too many festivities and talents and stories to convey here (see web - www.alwunhouse.org) - SO, get in a festive mood and come meet folks who've been part of downtown art spaces, who've sadly seen artspaces and art cliques come and go, but always knew they have a warm place in Phoenix' "heart of arts" - regardless of where in the world they've grown to exhibit since (Russia, Japan, Bali, Mexico, nearly every hot art spot in U.S. - you get the picture).

Today's new talents join Alwun's 35 year celebration; maybe you'll be inspired that Phoenix has finally become a successful emerging arts mecca; and by support your local arts community, and we'll inspire and enliven you.

Be well, and speak kindly of each other.

Good Dwight Karma

Just spoke with Dwight Tindle on the phone, who's in good spirits but justifiably frustrated with hospitals and doctors. Anyway, he says he welcomes calls from any old friends (including all the folks who frequent this blog), and he's in a lucid mood to talk (all that morphine, he laughs).
I'd recommend calling the hospital - it's Scottsdale Healthcare Shea, on 9003 E. Shea Boulevard - at 480-323-3000 and asking for his room (it's presently room 3131). He's been in there two weeks, with hospital TV and no computer (don't bother sending e-mail), so he's happy to hear familiar voices. Give the dude a call and send out some good "Dwight Karma"!

Computer Techs... NOT!

This ought to make us feel better about our computer skills...

===============

Tech support: What kind of computer do you have?
Female customer: A white one...

===============

Customer: Hi, this is Celine. I can't get my disk out.
Tech support: Have you tried pushing the button?
Customer: Yes, sure, it's really stuck.
Tech support: That doesn't sound good; I'll make a note.
Customer: No , wait a minute... I hadn't inserted it yet... it's still on my desk... sorry....

===============

Tech support: Click on the 'my computer' icon on to the left of the screen.
Customer: Your left or my left?

===============

Tech support: Good day. How may I help you?
Male customer: Hello... I can't print.
Tech support: Would you click on "start" for me and...
Customer: Listen pal; don't start getting technical on me! I'm not Bill Gates.

===============

Customer: Hi, good afternoon, this is Martha, I can't print. Every time I try, it says 'Can't find printer'. I've even lifted the printer and placed it in front of the monitor, but the computer still says he can't find it...

===============

Customer: I have problems printing in red...
Tech support: Do you have a color printer?
Customer: Aaaah.................... thank you.

===============

Tech support: What's on your monitor now, ma'am?
Customer: A teddy bear my boyfriend bought for me at the 7-11.

===============

Customer: My keyboard is not working anymore.
Tech support: Are you sure it's plugged into the computer?
Customer: No. I can't get behind the computer.
Tech support: Pick up your keyboard and walk 10 paces back.
Customer: OK!
Tech support: Did the keyboard come with you?
Customer: Yes.
Tech support: That means the keyboard is not plugged in. Is there another keyboard?
Customer: Yes, there's another one here. Ah... that one does work...

===============

Tech support: Your password is the small letter "a" as in apple, a capital letter "V" as n Victor, and the number "7".
Customer: Is that 7 in capital letters?

===============

Customer: I can't get on the Internet.
Tech support: Are you sure you used the right password?
Customer: Yes, I'm sure. I saw my friend do it.
Tech support: Can you tell me what the password was?
Customer: Five stars.

===============

Tech support: What anti-virus program do you use?
Customer: Netscape.
Tech support: That's not an anti-virus program.
Customer: Oh, sorry... Internet Explorer.

===============

Customer: I have a huge problem. A friend has placed a screen saver on my computer, but every time I move the mouse, it disappears.

===============

Tech support: How may I help you?
Customer: I'm writing my first e-mail.
Tech support: OK, and what seems to be the problem?
Customer: Well, I have the letter "a" in the address, but how do I get the circle around it?

===============

A woman customer called the Canon help desk with a problem with her printer.
Tech support: Are you running it under Windows?
Customer: No, my desk is next to the door, but that is a good point. The man sitting in the cubicle next to me is under a window, and his printer is working fine.

===============

And last but not least...
Tech support: Okay Bob, press the control and escape keys at the same time. That brings up a task list in the middle of the screen. Now type the letter "P" to bring up the Program Manager.
Customer: I don't have a P.
Tech support: On your keyboard, Bob.
Customer: What do you mean?
Tech support: "P".... on your keyboard, Bob.
Customer: I'M NOT GOING TO DO THAT!

:~)

KUDOS TO JIM BACHMAN - GUEST DJ @ RADIO FREE PHOENIX

EVERYBODY wants to go to Heaven, nobody wants to die. EVERYBODY wants to be a DJ, few of them can fly! Listening to Jim Bachman on Radio Free Phoenix' Guest DJ show this rainy Sunday afternoon in Texas was a real treat. I can't help but wonder what his day job is.

Actually MANY listeners have an instinct for The Dance that is the DJ and his fantasy audience but this man did shine! So congrats, Jim - You rock!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Memory banks keep reminding me of OLD TIME RADIO when I was a kid. AM radio was God reading the news and playing the tunes in those days. I grew up listening to a magnificent voice that belonged to a man named George Irwin on KFJZ in Fort Worth in the late 1940's through the 60's.
After KCAC, KDKB, KSPN and finally KBBC... I drifted back to Texas and KFJZ again. That was 1983. Several guys came out of retirement and joined in the last few months
that KFJZ was on the air. George Irwin was one of them. I got to meet one of my childhood heros for the first time. I had just turned 40 and since I had listened to George since Age 5, he had to be in his late 70's. Old sure, but still great pipes and a great announcer.
He died within two weeks at KFJZ where he had worked all his life. The official Cause of Death was a heart attack.
The PRIVATE analysis was MIKE FRIGHT. MIKE FRIGHT! George had suffered from it for 40 years. A condition where an announcer or emcee or public speaker suddenly in front of dozens or even hundreds of people or imagined thousands, tens of thousands of listeners, suddenly chokes up, becomes suddenly self-concious and enters a panic mode.
Freaky. Worth remembering. Everybody wants to be a DJ. At first.
HARLEY'S AND HACKERS
THEY ARE SMART. They are too damned smart But they are not STREETWISE and sooner or later they will be found out and turned out.
They are ALL OVER the high-traffic areas of the Internet, including Blogger, email portals and anywhere they can penetrate your computer's defenses. I suspect they may be the reason why we haven't heard from Mariah or Bob Gately or several others lately.
Hijacked. Your browser is no longer under your control. Here are the symptons:
1. Your mouse arrow gets sluggish or jerky or freezes up. That's your first tip. Somebody else is in control.
2. Hit Ctrl/Alt/Delete to bring up your Task Manager. "Task Manager has been disabled by your System Administrater" That's your Operating System - usually YOU but you are no longer in control.
3. While this is going on and in the background your firewall may be trying to give you a blocked message that someone is tryng to upload a program like MEGABLAST.EXE which sounds like a harmless game or something. Among all the other stuff, your PASSWORDS are being stripped from your Windows Auto-Password cache and are now the property of whomever.
UNPLUG YOUR COMPUTER OR SWITCH IT OFF A soft shutdown will not work. Shut that sucker down.
PROTECTION FROM ASSHOLES is no easier on the Internet than at Wal-Mart.
HINTS THAT MIGHT HELP
NORTON
AD-AWARE
ZONE-ALARM
CRAP CLEANER
Run them often till the boys on the street can help. Sooner or later an asshole makes a very messy mistake.
MORPHINE! Dwight Tindle 480 323-**** & SATURDAY 11/04/2006 UPDATE
Just talked to Dwight. Good sprits but rough shape. One cancerous kidney that he will probably lose, plus lacerations to spinal tissue due to the cancer. The very mention of morphine should tell you that it hurts. It was a hoot talking to him after all these years and there was some good times to remember.
In my view and memory, I recall Dwight coming to visit me in The Blue Bus to invite me to come on board KDKB back in what - 1971? Geeze I got a great memory except for the times when I wasn't high. I do remember "How Can You Be in Two Places At Once - When You're Not Anywhere At All" by The FireSign Theater, around that time. 'Nuff said. Like me, Dwight is mostly disabled and getting around is a chore, which is why he too, opted out of the Aluwn Party.
Dwight is a bit groggy from the morphine which keeps him on the edge of woozy. He can't share it with you but you can probably get a contact high and he would love to hear from you!
UPDATE: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH, 2006:
Folks:
Dwight has been moved to another room at the hospital. I strongly suggest you call before visiting in case they are doing tests. The direct phone number is different so I suggest you call the operator and ask to be connected.
He was in good spirits early this afternoon.
WHAT DID THEY KNOW? WHEN DID THEY KNOW IT? PRINCE - I WOULD DI 4 U
Somewhere in between Elvis, Little Richard & Mozart lives the DNA of Prince. Just this side of a monumental ego trip, just the other side of organization and sanity. Structured Dementia. The only thing that keeps Elvis and Little Richard & Mozart from slashing each other up is just plain talent.
The guy rocks. Maybe just this side of mysticism, maybe hopelessly affected by voodo and Jimi Hendrix. Have a dose.. from "Purple Rain" in the mid 1980's....
Im not a woman
Im not a man
I am something that youll never understand
Ill never beat u
Ill never lie
And if youre evil Ill forgive u by and by
U - I would die 4 u, yeah
Darling if u want me 2
U - I would die 4 u
Im not your lover
Im not your friend
I am something that youll never comprehend
No need 2 worry
No need 2 cry
Im your messiah and youre the reason why
cuz u - I would die 4 u, yeah
Darling if u want me 2
U - I would die 4 u
Youre just a sinner I am told
Be your fire when youre cold
Make u happy when youre sad
Make u good when u are bad
Im not a human
I am a dove
Im your conscious
I am love
All I really need is 2 know that
U believe
Yeah, I would die 4 u, yeah
Darling if u want me 2
U - I would die 4 u
Yeah, say one more time
U - I would die 4 u
Darling if u want me 2
U - I would die 4 u
2 3 4 u
I would die 4 u
I would die 4 u
U - I would die 4 u
U - I would die 4 u
Hi again, lovers of Serendipity, Circumstance and Deja'Vu..
Like it or not, God is Alive, Magic is Afoot. We don't always agree with what he has in mind for us..... I know I certainly don't but it just goes to show ya - we're not God. But then too we don't get to blame him for Serendipity, Circumstance and Deja'Vu.
I just got this from Scott Jones.....
Dwight says that his day gets busy around 10 AM - noon but thought he would want to hear from folks from early afternoon until early evening.
CLOWN CLONE TRICKS HOSPITAL URINAL
Hi all.. I am back for a brief visit. Gotta go back to the hospital Tuesday maybe for just a day, maybe longer.
The roto-rooter project got delayed by the heart bypsasses in 1998 and I will likely get a pacemaker soon. To makle a long, boring story even longer and more boring, I flat-lined on the operating table the other day and had to postpone the rest of the story. No White Light no near-death experience, they just woke me up to tell me I had technically died for a little bit. There you have it. Dead Man Walking. Gotta go back for heart cathater, then probably a pacemaker and more peanut butter.
This is like overhauling an engine while it is running.
MEANWHILE watching cable TV is an educsation! CNN is using the "Broken Government" analogy as a feature title and the concept I have been touting here on the blog about not voting has other supporters as well. Checking out dontvote.com It seems an adsolutely fertile ground containing aboutt 45% of the population who are undecidied and determined to stay that way. That is an AWESOME if disorganized Silent Majority.
That's how it SEEMS until you go there and discover it is a cover for a voter informstion program sponsored by AARP.
Damn......... And I thought there was A CHANCE.
Hey, what's this "the blog is dead" crap???? Do you folks really give up that easily? We've got something good going here, and I'm just getting started on my historical project. I need all of you to stay in touch and participate if we're going to make this work. OK, postings are down (and, if I may say so, wandering increasingly astray from the subject at hand; yeah, I know, I'm guilty of it too). But I see this as a pause, not an ending. I'm in this for the long run. (NOT a reference to an Eagles song, by the way. A reference to my profession in archaeology, where I routinely deal with time in hundred-year increments.) Are ya with me or not??? Mariah: haven't heard from you for awhile; what do you think? Maybe another gathering sometime between now and the New Year to keep folks talking, thinking, and looking forward? Ken Beals: you know what I'd like to do; can I count on your help? Andy Olson: you're our master tape archivist and technical wizard as well as carrying on the good fight with Radio Free Phoenix. You're part of this too. Marty Manning... this is about your life, and your good friends' lives, and what you were able to accomplish together. We've got a cool little online community here, with the potential to set AND ACHIEVE some modest goals. All we've gotta do is take advantage of this possibly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. (None of us, to my knowledge, are getting any younger.) I hate to sound like a football coach here, but...c'mon, folks! Falling apart, drifting back into isolation and apathy, is easy. Staying focused and working together is tough work, but why else are we here??? OK, I've vented my spleen. Now it's your turn. GO!
COLLOIDAL SILVER - Better than sex!
EVERYTHING YOU READ FROM HERE ON DOWN MAY BE A LIE!
How's THAT for a "I am not a doctor - butt" disclaimer?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Off- BLOG email from Mariah sez she's got the flu.

So for her benefit (not because I give a damn about the rest of you) here is some info on Colloidal Silver. I repeat I am not a doctor butt.

SILVER is a very old remedy for infections, going back to the Knights Templar and even farther. You get a cut or stab wound? Place your silver cross on it and say anything you believe in and it will be well on it's way to healing in 24 hours with NO infection as a rule, if you keep the cross on there.

During The Plague people caught crap and died EXCEPT the wealthy folks who ate off silver plates with silver utensils.... for the most part.

The wars saw silver used not only for photography but silver foil and silver mesh was used on burns and such. But here's the kicker - OLD research in the 1930's seems to have observed STEM CELL PRODUCTION in the presence of silver, during cellular mitosis. That's right - cellular mitosis - the only miracle science cannot explain (at least to my satisfaction) seems to at least occasionally pump out a THIRD cell to be carried away by the blood stream and dropped off at an injury site where it can be utilized as a building block of healing.

It IS NOT an antibiotic regardless of what you might read on the Internet

As a colloid you are dealing with silver as a trace element, measured in PPM (Parts Per Million). When CS gets cold, it takes on a milky look but is just as effective as when clear. Exposed to light, it will turn a slight brownish/amber color. You can SEE the particles with a laser pen.

Use of Colloidal Silver falls under the heading of PREVENTIVE medication. If you use it and DON'T get sick, it worked! COLLOIDAL silver has much more with the DISTRIBUTION of silver - turning it into almost a thin but invisible paint - it goes almost EVERYWHERE topically and internally as well. Again, it is NOT an antibiotic but rather functions as an antiseptic, killing them little bacteria and germy vermin almost on contact, and the contact is THOROUGH in the colloidal form. The SMALLER and FINER the particles, the deeper the penetration into the tissue, the more germs and viruses die.

So how do you get Colloidal silver? It is commercially available on the Internet at exorbitant prices OR you can make your own. You need PURE silver, PURE water and chemically PURELY CLEAN (glass/PYREX) utensils. Remember you are going to make a COLLOID (like a very thin Jell-O) not a SOLUTION. You are going to do something like a high school experiment in ELECTROPLATING using pure silver, only a few volts of electricity and pure, distilled water. Nothing more. 1. You need a source of PURE silver. Silver - two INGOTS of 99.99 sterling silver from a jewelry shop is best. The Canadian pure silver coin is OK.
2. Electricity can be AC or DC in the range of 20 - 30 volts. FOUR nine volt batteries wired in series works well. Positives and negatives plug right in to each other.
3. Hook one silver ingot to each wire. Technically one is a cathode, one is an anode. Polarity does not matter, therefore you can use a 24-volt power supply (transformer). Three 9-volt batteries in series ... make 27 volts. FOUR is best - 36 volts lasts longer.
4. Place one silver ingot at the sides or ends of a glass container, about the size of an 6-oz water glass. BOIL your distilled water IN GLASS such as a coffee decanter and pour enough in the PYREX container boiling, to cover the ingots - not the wires or clips. Boiling water allows more silver into the suspension although room temperature is OK. PURE DISTILLED WATER is absolutely essential to the process. After you have done this a few times and have made the mistake of using tap water you will come to realize what horrific stuff tap water really is. Tap water because of the chlorine, salts and other minerals in it, will fizz, roil, scum over and make you wonder WHY you ever drank that stuff! AVOID boiling your distilled water in any type of metal container.
5. Turn on the electricity or connect the batteries and let the process continue for about 20-30 minutes or so. You're done. The water will hold just so much silver. 20-30 minutes is enough.
SILVER is light sensitive. Keep your Colloidal Silver in a brown or blue bottle or in the dark. A NASAL SPRAY BOTTLE is OK for frequent use. GLASS and dark storage is best, having to do with polarity of the molecular structure. A brown glass bottle with a dropper is good. You can use it as a nasal spray. Use it as an eye and ear drop. Large doses over a long time it is said, will cause a slight BLUE tint to occur on the body's skin. THIS OLD WIVE'S TALE IS PROBABLY FALSE. We are talking about DRINKING several glasses per day for months on end. Simple drops have no such effect. Silver toxicity? Here, have a sip of this bleach..... No, that's tapwater. Sorry.

BE AWARE that a COLLOID is like a PAINT. Why not paint your nostrils, eyes, ears and so on with silver? Try it. Three or more times per day at the onset of infections. Use common sense and stop usage when you are well. CS is NOT an antibiotic, but functions more as a disinfectant. <

TIPS: Use your jar lid in the bottom of your warming pan to keep the glass container from overheating on contact with the pan

Keep your CS IN THE DARK .. It is light sensitive. You are working with a form of TARNISH that isn't tarnish yet.

COLLOIDAL SILVER WILL KILL EVERY KNOWN PATHOGEN WITHIN 20 MINUTES OF CONSTANT CONTACT.
Then again, everything you have read above may be a lie.
