I'm kind of piggybacking on your posting here, but can't originate one of my own...
When I think think about KCAC and early KDKB, one of the artists who most frequently comes to mind is John Stewart. Clearly rememeber hearing for the first time hearing his songs from Willard & California Bloodlines.
Anyways, since there's a current KCAC/Alwun House connection...what might be the possibility of organizing a John Stewart concert at the House? I know he plays at Anderson's Fifth Estate regularly, and I'm grateful for that, but have always been annoyed there by idiots at the bar who just keep on talking over his music. Alwun House seems like it'd be a natural venue for him....

Why anyone would treat a performer as anything other than a guest is beyond my sensibilities.. but they do. It can't be the beer, must be the constipation.

Hey thanks, Ron.
I'd be glad to volunteer to help make this happen, too. A small way of paying John back for the years of enjoyment and inspiration that his music's given me.
And I've had experience roganizing & promoting events in the political and art worlds. Even worked with Kim Moody a couple summers back to help organize a Shadow Project (memorializing the A-bombings of Japan in WWII) in the Phx arts district.
